You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your care will cost.
An estimate of costs for services will be provided to those who have insurance, those who have insurance, and those who have insurance but are not using it to pay for services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected costs of any non-emergency, routine services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your first appointment. Please ask your provider for a GFE if you want it prior to scheduling or attending your first session, You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- You can access the GFE through the client portal and it is recommended that you save a copy of the estimate just in case you have trouble accessing the client portal and need to reference the document at any time.
