Ky provides individual, relationship, and family therapy those located in Illinois. Creating warm, compassionate, and understanding therapeutic spaces where clients feel comfortable in their vulnerability is a key guiding principle. Ky is an excellent reflective listener with a clear, compassionate, and direct communication style and operates from an anti-oppression, liberationist, inclusive lens. Welcome to ALIGN, a program that supports professionals who work with LGBTQIA+ clients. We all have the best intent to serve the community well, yet sometimes the impact we have doesn't align with our intent. Ky provides warm, competent support to those who seek to ALIGN their impact with intent.
Ky enjoys collaborating with other professionals to discuss considerations for providing competent care to the LGBTQIA+ community and attachment-centered provisions, including traits consistent with personality disorders (borderline, dependent, and narcissist). If you need consultation and it is a difficult financial reach, Ky has funding secured to cover those fees, ensuring access to needed support.
Ky has served on the St. Clair County Suicide Prevention Alliance (SCCSPA) since 2021. SCCSPA is a collaboration of local human service agencies and interested community members dedicated to lowering the suicide rate in St. Clair County, IL. Through this project, Ky has supported local emergency departments to enhance screening rates and protocols for those who might be experiencing significant mental health challenges. Ky has conducted attachment-based suicide prevention trainings for hospital staff at BJC and St. Elizabeths/HSHS, at local conferences, in academic settings, and to several local organizations. Most of Ky's trainings focus on engaging the power of human connection to make a real difference in the way we experience life.
Ky has been appointed to serve on the 2024-2025 legislative committee, honoring their commitment to the NASW Code of Ethics which states "Social workers should be aware of the impact of the political arena on practice and should advocate for changes in policy and legislation to improve social conditions in order to meet basic human needs and promote social justice." The committee will advise and support the Director of Legislative Affairs on state policy the chapter will support and oppose during the annual Illinois legislative session, as well as assist the Chapter in developing statements and advocacy.
